Madzlan Bin Saibon

A leading Malaysian para-badminton player in the wheelchair category (WH2) with a right leg deformity.

Madzlan has been highly successful in regional tournaments, winning an impressive 8 ASEAN Para Games titles in both men’s singles and doubles badminton events.

In 2017, news articles reported that Madzlan was aiming to win the World Championships in Incheon, South Korea. This suggests he was ambitious to compete at the highest level.

Men’s doubles badminton players category SU5 (upper part disability)

In his first four appearances for the Para ASEAN competition, he 35 year old competed in singles and doubles before a hip injury in 2009 forced him to focus on doubles only.

Since 2014, he has teamed up with Cheah Lek Hou and they currently hold the status of the world’s number one men’s doubles SU5 category, as well as the defending champions for the Para ASEAN with gold won in 2015 in Singapore.
